HOPE AND WISH

a. Pengertian Hope and Wish

    Hope dan wish sama-sama digunakan sebagai kata kerja yang menunjukan sebuah harapan. Pada dasarnya, setiap kata yang bersinonim tidak ada yang benar-benar sama. Pasti ada saja perbedaanya, entah perbedaan dari arti, cara penggunaan, dan atau tingkat kesopanaanya. Sebagai contoh kata “anda” dan “kamu” adalah bersinonim, tetapi cara penggunaanya dari dua kata tersebut berbeda. “Anda” untuk situasi formal dan “kamu” untuk situasi informal.

b. Perbedaan Hope and Wish 

1. Hope digunakan untuk harapan yang tingkat kemungkinaanya sangat tinggi. hope bisa digunakan untuk merujuk pada harapan masa lalu, sekarang, ataupun masa depan. Akan tetapi, umumnya digunakan untuk merujuk harapan saat ini atau yang akan terjadi di masa yang akan datang. 
2. Wish pada umumnya digunakan untuk harapan yang tidak terjadi. Oleh karena itu, wish lebih sering merujuk pada keinginan yang tidak terwujud di masa lampau. Selain itu, wish juga bisa digunakan untuk harapan yang terjadi di masa datang yang berhubungan dengan kesuksesan dan kebahagiaan.

• Contoh Kalimat Hope

        I hope she likes the flowers. (Saya berharap dia suka bunganya.)
        I hope the bus comes soon. (Saya berharap bus datang segera.)
        I hope you feel better tomorrow. (Saya harap kamu merasa lebih baik besok.)
        I hope you are fine there. (Saya harap kamu baik-baik saja di sana.)
        We must hope for the best. (Kita harus berharap untuk yang terbaik.)

 A. Pengertian Congratulation

 Congratulations dalam bahasa indonesia adalah ucapan yang diberikan kepada seseorang yang sedang mendapatkan kebahagiaan. Dengan kata lain congratulation adalah suatu ungkapan pujian karena adanya suatu pencapaian atau prestasi. Kata congratulation ini mempunyai arti yang sama dengan “good wish” atau harapan yang baik kepada seseorang.
